FORCED ENTRY SYSTEM PLANTING AND PRIVATE COMPANIES


The principal provisions in cultivation are:
o Residents are required to provide some land for crops sold to Europe
o Land which used does not exceed 1/5 of land owned by villagers
o Time to maintain tanman not exceed the time used to maintain the rice plant
o Part of cultivated land are tax-exempt
o When the crop exceeds the value of the tax to be paid then the excess crops people were given to the people
o If the crop failures that are not caused by the fault of farmers, the losses borne by the government
o Residents who are not farmers are required to work in the garden, factory or carriage for Dutch interests.
Violations of the rules of cultivation cause a reaction, various parties demanding abolished. Reaction to irregularities cultivation among others come from:
A. Group humanist who fought for humanity, namely:
o Baron Van Houvel, a pastor who express the misery of the people as a result of the forced cultivation both in the magazine, as well as a meeting forum in the Dutch Parliament
o Eduard Douwes Dekker samara name Multatuli
B. Group private Dutch authorities who want the freedom of doing business in Indonesia through parliamentary session in the Netherlands.
